Janet Allen, RN, BSN, CBIS

Owner & Administrator

Graduate of Sault College of Applied Arts and Science as a Registered Nurse and then of Lake Superior University with Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Janet began her career in medical surgical nursing at the Toronto General Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. She continued her career specializing in Intensive Care and then Emergency Room nursing at Munson Medical Center for over 10 years combined experience in these areas. Janet went on to manage and supervise over 100 staff people at a home health care agency specializing in in home patient care. This role involved budgeting, negotiations, teaching and patient assessments in addition to management of the entire staff. During this time, she was also successful in launching a case management business, GBS Care, Inc. and worked for third party administrators in Michigan and Texas managing bill reviews, patient follow-up and negotiations with various health care providers.

Janet joined the Deer Run team in 2011 as the Director of Nursing. In 2019, she became the Administrator and then the Owner.

Janet is an active member of the Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) and the Infusion Nurses Association along with the Brain Injury Association (BIAMI). She continues to serve on the Advisory Board of Ross Medical in Midland.

Vena Schreck

Staffing Coordinator

Vena has well over 20 years’ experience working as a Direct Care Staff. She is responsible for our employee training program as well as leading our first shift team alongside our Nurse. Vena give the highest quality care, is a detail oriented person, and she expects the best of herself and the staff in her care.
